Cameron Young spent years holding an unwanted record: the most runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour without a win in 40 years. That changed in August 2025 at the Wyndham Championship, and he hasn't slowed down since, following it up with a Players Championship title in 2026. His bag is a full Titleist setup packed with prototypes, and it's rarely stayed the same for more than a few months at a time.

Titleist GT3, 11°
Young switched from the GT2 to the GT3 the week before winning The Players Championship, moving up to an 11° loft. The change was tied directly to his golf ball. His Pro V1x Double Dot prototype flies lower than a standard Pro V1x, so Titleist's team, including Director of Tour Research Fordie Pitts, worked with him to find more launch through the higher-lofted GT3 head. He briefly tested a GTS3 model at the Memorial before returning to the GT3.
Titleist GT1 Tour, 14.5°
After significant offseason testing, Young moved into the GT1 Tour at 14.5°, built on a Mitsubishi Diamana PD 80 TX shaft. He was chasing a fairway wood that launched easily and offered stability without adding spin, and the GT1 Tour's low center of gravity delivered exactly that, in a shape compact enough not to feel overbearing at address.
Titleist GTS3, 21°
Young is one of a growing number of tour pros carrying a 7-wood instead of a hybrid or long iron. He plays the Titleist GTS3 at 21°, a compact-profile head built for players who strike higher on the face or want a lower, more penetrating flight, a fit for Young's naturally high ball flight.
Titleist GT1, 20°
Rounding out his long game is a Titleist GT1 hybrid at 20°, which entered the bag toward the end of 2025 and has stuck ever since. It shares the same Mitsubishi Diamana PD 80 TX shaft as his fairway wood, giving him a 5-wood's performance in a more forgiving, easier-to-hit hybrid shape.
Iron: A Three-Model Combo, Including a One-of-a-Kind Prototype
Young's irons blend three different Titleist models: a T200 4-iron, a T100 5-iron, and the 631.CY Prototype from 6 through 9, a genuinely unique iron built specifically around his own specs. Titleist hasn't updated its 620 CB and MB line in several generations, largely because of its commitment to fully custom CPO builds for top staff players like Young. All run on True Temper Dynamic Gold X7 shafts.
Vokey SM11 and a Custom Grind
Young switched into the newest Vokey SM11 wedges at the start of 2026, carrying the 48°, 52°, and 56° models. The standout is his lob wedge, a WedgeWorks build with a K* grind, bent to 62°, replacing the 62° T-grind he'd played previously. According to Vokey tour rep Aaron Dill, the added sole width of the K* grind gives Young easier height out of bunkers while keeping the versatility he needs elsewhere around the green.
Scotty Cameron Phantom 9.5R Tour Prototype
On the greens, Young rolls a Scotty Cameron Phantom 9.5R Tour Prototype, a sand-blasted mallet with a thick black alignment line on the crown, matching the personal marking he uses on his ball. The putter came into play toward the start of his breakout run, and 2025 was one of the best putting years of his career, a big factor in finally getting over the winning line.
Titleist Pro V1x Double Dot Prototype
Young plays a Pro V1x Double Dot prototype, a custom ball he's credited with genuinely changing his career. It flies lower than the standard Pro V1x, which prompted the driver and fairway wood adjustments described above, a full setup built around getting the most out of one specific piece of equipment.
