Luke Clanton did something no amateur had done since 1958: back-to-back top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour before he'd even turned pro. Now a full-time TaylorMade staffer with a rookie season under his belt, his bag mixes serious tour tech with a Florida Gators theme that follows him from headcover to headcover.

TaylorMade Qi4D, 8°

Clanton plays the Qi4D at a low 8° loft, built on a Project X Titan Black 70 TX shaft. This is a meaningful switch from his amateur days, when he carried a Titleist driver despite an otherwise full TaylorMade bag. According to those close to his equipment team, TaylorMade had been working for a while to get him fully into the driver, and 2026 is the season it finally happened.

Mini Driver: TaylorMade R7 Quad, 14.5°

This is genuinely his favorite club in the bag. Clanton plays a vintage TaylorMade R7 Quad mini driver, officially listed at 13.5° but actually built to 14.5°, a deliberate choice to help rein in his considerable clubhead speed. According to his TaylorMade fitter Cory Johnson, Clanton generates a lot of speed and tends to see shots with plenty of curve, so the mini driver fills the gap for tight tee shots where a full driver isn't the play, and it can also hit a big cut off the deck on long par 5s.

TaylorMade Qi35, 21°

Rounding out his long game is a TaylorMade Qi35 7-wood at 21°, built on a Project X HZRDUS Black 90 TX shaft, giving him a high-launch option for approach shots into longer par 5s.

Long Irons: A Three-Way Rotation

This is one of the most interesting parts of Clanton's bag. He alternates between a TaylorMade GAPR Lo 2-iron, a 3-iron, and a 5-wood depending entirely on course setup, but the P770 3-iron gets the call most days. According to Johnson, the utility iron is his go-to stinger club off the tee, the 5-wood is the opposite, a high-launch, high-landing-angle club built for par 5s, while the 3-iron sits right in the middle, able to flight low when needed or launch high and soft.

Irons: TaylorMade P760 and P7MB Combo

Clanton's main iron set blends the TaylorMade P760 in the 4-iron with P7CB in the 5 and 6, then moves into the true muscle-back P7MB for 7 through 9. All run the same Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 130 X shaft, an unusually heavy, low-launch shaft that speaks to just how much speed Clanton generates through the ball.

Wedges: TaylorMade MG5, Four Lofts

He carries four TaylorMade MG5 wedges at 46°, 50°, 54°, and 58°, running Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 125 X shafts, a slightly lighter build than his irons for extra feel on scoring shots.

Putter: TaylorMade Spider Tour X

On the greens, Clanton rolls the TaylorMade Spider Tour X, a mallet built for stability and forgiveness on off-center strikes, an area of his game that's been flagged as needing the most improvement heading into his first full rookie season.

A Signature Detail: Gator Headcovers

Every headcover in Clanton's bag carries a custom Florida Gators alligator theme, a nod to his home state and his time at Florida State University. It's become one of the more recognizable personal touches on tour for a player who's only been a professional since mid-2025.
